As you may have been able to ascertain from my last post, its been a bit of an odd month. A whole lot of things have been converging at once, and its made for what I'm sure I'll refer to one day as a "growing experience." It's been rough, but one week from tomorrow, one part of it will be done.
Regulation is again looming, but this time I'm trying hard not to exert the same bleak attitude about it that I had one month ago. While I haven't been able to spend nearly as much time studying as I'd like, I've managed to find enough places to squeeze in 10 multiple choice questions here and there to add up to something significant. Its been really weird just trying to "keep it up" after studying so hard for the 4 months prior...on any given night I feel like I've devoted a lot less time, but because I started off September knowing so much, I'm thinking this mental treadmill running will get me as ready as can be on test day. In reality I'm probably no better off than I was in August, but I'll walk out of my local prometric center next week with my head held high. Keeping in this studied-up state of limbo has been a confidence building experience.
The entire process of squeezing the CPA exam around the rest of my life (and certainly at times vis versa) has by no means been easy, but this past month has really been something new and different as its been busy season. I'd by no means recommend it for your first test (working nutty hours + studying for your first exam), but once you catch the drift of how "you" like to prepare for exams I'll testify that it seems to some degree workable. With that said, we'll have to see how the results turn out. I'll try to write once more before next Wednesday. Good luck to anyone else taking any exams this week, I know its about that time for '07 grads (or maybe it has been for awhile - I hear registration times are getting shorter.)
Oh, and a note - not one flash card.
(At least not yet.)
