Fired up....

Congrats to Kunal  and Ryan for putting the CPA exam to rest in their lives. I bet it must be a great feeling. Its hard to feel it, until you get there.

I am fired up, and motivated, I had to post something tonight, so I can tap into the air of success, I need to join this train very soon.... I am back to my books, and very motivated, and I would be sharing a lot of good news soon.

Congrats to both of you, it is well deserved!!!!

After refreshing the NASBA nonstop for what seemed like an eternity, I found that beauty waiting for me.

It hasn't sunk in yet, but I won't jinx anything until I get the letter saying that I'm officially done with this test.

I've got to thank Ed and Janice for helping me get through these past couple of days.  Ed was great at keeping me positive, and helping me stay calm enough not to worry myself into a useless mess.  I've also got to thank my friend Mark.  We started together, and I know he'll get his last section soon.

I'll post something this weekend reflecting on my entire experience.  I'll leave tips and advice and anything else that I found useful during my studying.

Hopefully Ryan has good news today also.

To those that are still studying, keep working at it.  There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it is well worth the effort.

I Passed!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone,

I have awesome news:  I have officially passed all four parts of the CPA Exam!!!  I got my AUD score back last night - what a great feeling!

I was really nervous because I took the exam one day after I came down with the flu.  I was miserable during the exam and didn't sleep the night before.  Thankfully I pulled off a 79!!!

I hope to hear some positive news from others as well.  Let me know how you did!

I will come back in a few days or so with my strategy for the CPA Exam, what worked and what didn't, and my advice to others going forward.

Are you waiting for your audit score?

They will be available on-line this evening after NASBA's system updates the website.  This should take place around 7:00pm.

3 Exams Down, 1 Pending

Hi everyone,

Please accept my apologies for being MIA these past few weeks.  I have been busy at work and also, I have interviewed with a few firms during this time. 

Good news, though!  I passed BEC, which I took on February 12th, with a score of 84!!  That leaves me with AUD, which should be coming out tonight, as Kunal just mentioned.  I am anxiously awaiting that score...keeping my fingers crossed for sure!

More good news:  I accepted an offer to join PricewaterhouseCoopers' Transaction Services - Accounting and Financial Reporting group as a Senior Associate in NYC.  I will start in August.  I will be leaving the GASB in July as my one year term will be up.

It feels like I have been waiting forever!!!!!!  I took AUD back on January 11th.  I cannot believe this...  What is going on?!?!

I will keep you posted. Hopefully I find out tonight along with Kunal!

Today's the Big Day

Hi All,

I heard that the AICPA released the Audit scores yesterday, so they should be up today after 10 PM at the earliest (at least based on when I was able to see the other score releases)

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed at work today and hope I get good news tonight.

Denied

Yes.

For those who know me, know I'm a big Phillies phan.  And for those that know the Phillies, know what I'm referencing with the title.  For those that don't, "Denied" were the words that Lenny Dykstra said while rounding third in the '93 NLCS.  With that word, he silenced the Atlanta Braves faithful, and started to burst the bubble of a Braves return trip to the World Series.

I know that this is a CPA blog, but the story above serves a twofold purpose.  First,with Opening Day a couple short weeks away, thinking about baseball and the Phillies helps to remember what it was like before I studied for this exam.

The second reason for this reference is that "Denied" was all I thought about today when I found out that Audit will be the last section released.  My hope was to have found out I passed a week ago.  Yet, I'm here waiting...again.  Oh well, as the saying goes "Good things come to those that wait," and I've been (patiently?) waiting.

Oh well, here's hoping the Audit scores are released to NASBA tomorrow, and I don't have to start studying again once they are released.

Getting Ready Again.....

Hello Everyone,

I am getting ready for another round of CPA exam testing, and hoping that this would be my last set of exams. My season at work slows down next month, and I am planning to write my exams starting in May.

I have taken the CPA exams now  7 times since April 2009, and in all I have come real close; everyone, including my parents have told me that its hard to study when you have a family. I totally agree, but that is not an excuse, I believe I can do it.

The only way I can do it is to cover all my bases over and over, and build up my confidence. There are people out there who are just like me and all I can say is keep hope alive, we all can do it.

I would keep you all posted with my progress.

So Close

Hi All,

I was expecting an Audit score release last week, and as it stands, I'm still waiting.

It seems that my score release is always the last one.  It's been a hard month waiting for the score release, and this weekend has been harder.

I've started work on an Audit client of ours, and it looks like the next couple of weeks will be busy.  Hopefully that take my mind off of waiting for my score, but if the past is any indication, it probably won't.

Congrats to all those who passed FAR and BEC.  And for those who did not get good news, keep working at it.  For everyone else still waiting for a score, stay patient, as good news is hopefully on the way.

Anxiously Awaiting Score Release

Hi All,

So I've been through this way too many times than I care to admit.  Waiting until that day when I no longer see the message "Score Not Found" on the NASBA website.  Although I've been met with disappointment on multiple occasions during this wait, I still cannot help but check for my score daily.

I have reason to have hope this score release though.  There are several key things that are different from the previous periods where I found myself living on the NASBA sight.  The first of these is that I am coming off a passing score for the first time in a long while.  Partly due to that, I am not currently typing this post with a CPA study book open (although my list of mnemonic devices is not far).  Finally, I'm in the middle of busy season, and have really used the free time that I've had to focus on what I need to learn from the Tax side of things.  After spending most of my time worrying about the CPA, I now am taking the time to really determine the issues that I need to learn, and making sure that I am learning them to be a better Tax Accountant.

I checked for a score before typing this post, and had no luck in seeing a score. I realize that since the window officially closes today, the second wave scores won't be out for another couple of weeks.  However, that won't stop me from checking my scores once (maybe twice... ok, I'll probably check another 5 or 6 times) before I call it a night.

As always good luck studying, and keep working those multiple choice questions.
