The next flight after "74"

Hello Everyone,

I am back, and pumped for my next exam "Regulation" I have read the books, final review, past questions, AICPA released questions all for " 1 " point.

The Regulation airline departs for me on the 2nd of January at 8am, at the Fair lawn airport (test  center). I am hoping to land on the island of (above 75) by mid february (when the scores are released).

Enough to get you all laughing, we all need a laugh sometimes, and all the time. Sometimes we also need to de-stress, and live a little bit, but I wish everyone a safe New Year, I had a lot of questions for Santa this year, I actually told him to keep his gifts and give me all goods scores in 2010, he told me I was greedy, and asked for too much, I told him to come through with it or else...........CPA, CPA, CPA..One day it would be over.

Now to answer Jen's question (my fellow blogger)  if you apply for another NTS you should get it in 2-3 business days by email.

Some sad news...

Well I have some sad news to report.  Its seems that I did not pass auditing.  Also, I just took REG last weekend and do not feel confident that I did well.  It's very discouraging seeing that I feel like I have spent nearly all of my free time studying.  I guess that it is just a matter of finding a routine that works for me.  I am now trying to tackle FAR.  I am crazy nervous about getting through the material.  I already started going through it during the summer and planned on taking it first, but found it difficult to retain all of the information.  So, if anyone has some study tips, I would greatly appreciate it!

A Little Humor for a Monday Morning (Very Little)

A young man was crossing a road one day when a frog called out to him and said, "If you kiss me, I'll turn into a beautiful princess." He bent over, picked up the frog, and put it in his pocket.

The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will tell everyone how smart and brave you are and how you are my hero." The young man took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it, and returned it to his pocket.

The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will be your girlfriend for an entire week."

The young man took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it, and returned it to his pocket. The frog then cried out, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I'll marry you, cook your meals, and do your laundry." Again the young man took the frog out, smiled at it, and put it back into his pocket.

Finally, the frog asked, "What is the matter? I've told you that I'm a beautiful princess, that I'll marry you, I'll cook your meals and even do your laundry. Why won't you kiss me?"

The young man said, "Look, I'm an accountant studying for the CPA Exam. I don't have time for a wife, but a talking frog is cool!

My Patience has waned...

So I was good about being patient, waiting for NJ to say 'Wendy you can now send in your application' and then suddenly the patience disappeared.  Why do they have the application available for download if you can't just send it in?? So I think that may be what I'm going to do. They SHOULD have all my scores by now, so I may just try to send in the application and hope for the best.  Hopefully they don't get mad and be like "im sorry, you are the weakest link, goodbye"  and just reject it because I bypassed the normal system. We shall see.

Where is my Score ????????

Hello Everyone,

I am studying hard for my Audit exam, which is on May 15th. I keep forgetting what I am studying. Audit has too many "stories" and they are all similar. I am trying to keep up with the Becker mnemonics, and its wearing me out.

I was thinking of my FARE score today. I took the exam on the April 3rd, and really want to see my score. I ran into this blog on the Internet.

It makes score release predictions, and they are predicting that FARE will be out on May 22nd, REG on the 21st, AUDIT on the 20th and BEC on the 18th.

You all can check it and out and let me know what you think. The wait is wearing me out. I have even had dreams of my score, and in each of them I scored 75, and trust me that's all I need. I hope this dream becomes a reality.

This is what ive been missing!?!

So this past weekend was the first weekend I've been able to enjoy since I finished my exams and I have one thing to say.  If I knew how relaxing things could be AFTER the exam and how I can actually enjoy weekends again I would have given up all social life I had to study and get the exams done faster.  Or that would have been my attempt MORE than it was already. 

BUUUUUT as much as I'm enjoying my newfound freedom there is still this little 'whatif' nagging me in the back of my head. What if I'm not really done. What if I didn't really pass and I need to give up my June to try it again.  It takes some of the enjoyment of this time out. I can't wait to find out. Hopefully this time they don't take multiple months to release my score.  Come mid-May I'm going to have a really really really hard time controlling myself from looking for my score every 2 seconds.  I don't know if I'll be able to handle the stress of not knowing when they're putting up the scores.

BUUUUT Until then, there's nothing I can do. I know that the scores wont be posted for another few weeks so I might as well enjoy this freedom while I can. 

For those of you studying- focus on the end line. Not having studying or homework in the back of head. It'll come, you'll get there.

The end is in sight

First off- I hear that scores have been coming out from February exams. How are people doing? I hope a lot of you are having success!

A few of my coworkers are now completely done taking their exams.  As excited for them as I am, hard to see people pass their exams so quickly when it's taken me more than double the time.  But in the end, what does it really matter, we all come out of it with the same piece of paper saying we're licensed.  Same thing with the scores. I've had people ask me what I got on a certain exam and honestly? I don't particularly care what score I get as long as its a 75, because again, in the end we all get the same license. No one really cares whether you got a 75 or a 95, all they care about is the license.

Last two weeks til exam day! I can't wait, the end is in sight, I should be really really focused for it but I'm not. All I want to do is be done and to relax although I have this nagging little thought in the back of my head that there's a chance I'll fail. Goodness knows I hope I don't fail, I don't know if I could go through this AGAIN.   I'm still just reading through the chapters and getting through the homeworks. Later this week I'm going to start attacking the simulations and this weekend I will begin the massive amounts of practice problems I want to do. 

And on that note, off I go to study more and then begin my workday.  Have a great week everyone!

Busy Season Update

Greetings All,

It's been a while since my last update.  Since the last time I've posted, I've found myself really busy with work. I've also been able to attend to family and personal matters.  It seems as though I picked a really good time to take a break from testing.  The hours have made it difficult to study.  My whole approach has changed.  Where in the past, I could watch an entire lecture in a night, and answer questions the next day, I now find myself going section by section, and spending more time taking notes.  Right now, prior to the end of busy season, I can continue to take it slow and focus on each section.

I'm going to start again by cracking open my Becker book for Regulation, and go through one section before sleeping tonight.

My thoughts on CPA class

So I've now had two weeks of the live in-class CPA review. When I first signed up one of my coworkers told me that before every class I should read the chapter or not bother going to the class, I thought he was a little bit crazy. However, now after two weeks of class I think that there was something to his suggestion. Reading, or at least skimming the chapters that are going to be covered before class would prep you for class so that its not the first time you're hearing the information. To add to the work, I was thinking during class yesterday that I really should reread the chapter today or some of the points that did't fully click yesterday rather than waiting til next month when I'm reviewing everything. Rereading it now you'll have the instructor's voice in your head explaining things, but since they go really fast through some parts, you can take your time and really make sure you get it.  So that's my new goal for the week, I hope to reread the chapter and do the homework today and at some point this week skim through the two chapters for next week.

Busy busy busy season

So, work has been keeping me busy, as well as others I'm sure.  I've enjoyed my last two weeks of CPA freedom however class starts on Saturday to review for Financial and I am not at all looking forward to it. I knew busy season was going to be hard and whatnot but I guess you don't realize how hard until you're actually in it.  The thought of losing Saturday's to CPA class and then Sunday's to the homework for the class is not going to be fun. At least it's only a month!  Now back to work.  Hope everyone is surviving their busy seasons! If you're not in busy season right now then you're lucky! Enjoy your freedom for me!
