J.H. Cohn LLP raised more than $130,000 at its 10th annual employee Bowl-A-Thon benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey. This brings the total raised for Make-A-Wish by the Firm over the last 10 years through employee fundraising, donations, and raffles to more than $1,132,000. J.H. Cohn surpassed the $1 million mark in 2010.
Make-A-Wish, one of the J.H. Cohn Foundation’s Cohn for Kids supported charities, depends on donations to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses.
At the event held on July 12, partners and staff from J.H. Cohn’s New Jersey offices filled the lanes at Hanover Lanes in East Hanover. Each bowler raised donations and sponsorships from friends, family, and clients. Bowlers, other employees, and their families also participated in raffles and tricky tray auctions, which raised additional money for the cause. In addition, J.H. Cohn hosted at the Bowl-A-Thon a Wish child (and his/her family) who has been granted a wish through the donation from the last year’s Bowl-A-Thon.
In September, J.H. Cohn’s New York offices will hold a Bowl-A-Thon benefiting the Metro New York and Hudson Valley chapters of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Last month, the J.H. Cohn Foundation also donated a total of $150,000 to The Special Operations Warrior Foundation and the Joe Torre Safe At Home Foundation, two of its Cohn for Kids supported charities, through the 20th Annual J.H. Cohn Charity Golf Invitational.
