Toni Klimowicz, CPA Named Partner at Bederson & Company

West Orange-based accounting firm, Bederson & Company LLP has named Toni Klimowicz, Partner.

Klimowicz, CPA, has been with the firm for 27 years. She is a Quickbooks Pro Advisor and provides accounting and tax services to small to mid-size family owned businesses. Klimowicz works with clients in industries ranging from manufacturing, medical practice and insurance to retail and wholesale food.

She is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a member of the New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJSCPA) and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). Toni is also a member of the American Littoral Society, and National and New Jersey Audobon Societies.

Cranford-based FMRTL Welcomes Ralph Loggia, CPA

Ralph Loggia, CPA, MST has joined Fazio, Mannuzza, Roche, Tankel, LaPilusa, LLC, of Cranford as Tax Manager. Ralph graduated from Brooklyn College with a BS in Accounting and has a Masters of Accountancy in Taxation from Rutgers University. He is a member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA).

Amy Ciuffreda, CPA is a Senior Accountant in the firm’s Audit and Accounting Services Group. She earned a BS degree in Accounting from Rider University, as well as a BA degree from Gettysburg University. Ms. Ciuffreda is a member of the NJSCPA, AICPA and HFMA. She is a resident of Lawrenceville, NJ.

Monica Mayet, CPA is a Senior Accountant in the firm’s Small Business Services Group. She graduated from Rutgers University with a BS degree in Accounting. Ms. Mayet currently serves as a director of the Middlesex/Somerset Chapter of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is a resident of Edison, NJ.

FMRTL welcomes Robert Raiola, CPA, as Manager of the Sports and Entertainment Group

NJSCPA member Robert A. Raiola, CPA has joined Fazio, Mannuzza, Roche, Tankel, LaPilusa, LLC of Cranford as a Manager of the Sports and Entertainment Group. He will provide business management services, tax planning and business consulting to high net worth individuals and their families in the sports and entertainment industries.

For over 20 years, Robert’s expertise has centered on high net worth individuals. After working as a tax manager for Deloitte, Robert co-founded a New York firm which focused solely on such clients.

Robert received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Pace University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA)and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He co-authored the AICPA book Winning Tax Strategies for Athletes & Entertainers and has lectured nationally on the topic. In addition, Robert was a founding trustee of the Chatham Athletic Foundation, an organization based in Chatham, NJ which is focused on promoting youth athletics and safety in athletics through public education programs. In June 2011, Robert received the Chatham Jaycees Distinguished Services Award for his work with the Chatham Athletic Foundation.

 

John LaPilusa, CPA reappointed Trustee and Treasurer of the Cusack Care Center

New Jersey Society of CPAs Past-President John M. LaPilusa, CPA, Principal at Fazio, Mannuzza, Roche, Tankel, LaPilusa, LLC, Cranford, was reappointed by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace Health Care System Corp. as a Trustee and Treasurer of the Cusack Care Center at St. Joseph’s Home for the Blind 2011/2012.

 

NJ Utilities Association Awards Utility Industry’s Highest Honor to NJSCPA Member Gail Brady

The New Jersey Utilities Association (NJUA) has awarded the utility industry’s highest honor, the NJUA Distinguished Service Award, to New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJSCPA) member Gail P. Brady, President of GB Consulting Services, for her highly accomplished and influential 40-plus year career in the water industry. The award was presented during the utility industry’s 96th Annual Conference on June 9 at Seaview Resort in Galloway, NJ.

Brady is a former Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Elizabethtown Water Company and Treasurer of E’town Corporation for a combined 30 years. She has been a member of the faculty of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) Utility Rate School for over 35 years.

A Certified Public Accountant, she received a B.A. in Accounting from the former Upsala College located in East Orange, NJ and an M.B.A. in Finance from Seton Hall University located in South Orange, NJ. Brady is an Adjunct Professor of Accounting at Kean University located in Union, NJ and has served on the Ramapo College of New Jersey Board of Trustees since 1993.

Brady holds leadership roles in various activities supporting NJUA, the National Association of Water Companies-New Jersey Chapter and the Executive Women of New Jersey.

Brady is the 23^rd recipient of the NJUA Distinguished Service Award, and joins the ranks of past recipients, among them former Board of Public Utilities presidents, including Governor Brendan Byrne; utility company executives, attorneys and others that have made significant contributions to the industry. 

She is a resident of Verona, NJ where she lives with her husband Wally Brady, a former utility executive.

J.H. Cohn’s Bruce Kramer Named President of NJMGMA

Bruce Kramer, CPA, a J.H. Cohn partner, was named president of the New Jersey Medical Group Management Association (NJMGMA).

An active member of NJMGMA for several years, most recently serving as vice president, Bruce is currently completing the prior president’s term and then will commence his two-year term on January 1, 2012. For the past two years, Bruce chaired the association’s annual conference.

As a member of J.H. Cohn’s Medical Industry Practice, Bruce specializes in providing services to physician owners and medical practice managers. He has more than 30 years experience in accounting and taxation that encompasses business strategies, merger analysis, physician compensation, buy-sell agreements, wealth building, and tax minimization methods.

Bruce is a frequent speaker on managing vendor relationships and other issues pertinent to practice managers.  He is a member of Medical Group Management Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He resides in Millburn, NJ.

NJMGMA has more than 200 members representing more than 100 medical groups across New Jersey, including small and large specialty groups, medical school clinics, as well as prepaid organizations.

NJSCPA Members Volunteer for "JA Day" in Asbury Park

The New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJSCPA) kicked off a series of "JA Days" today as five members of the NJSCPA visited Barack Obama School in Asbury Park. The volunteers are:

The JA Day gives volunteers the unique opportunity to teach Junior Achievement’s (JA’s) financial literacy and workforce readiness curriculum to New Jersey youth. JA’s activity-based programs are taught over the course of one school day by teams of two. NJSCPA volunteers will visit a total of four New Jersey elementary schools in Trenton, Edison, Newark and Asbury Park.
