Hey all,
I am back again here with another update on my CPA studies. Unfortunately, this time around the news is not as great as the last time. I got my AUD scores back and I failed. As so many people have in the past, I can now officially say that I have failed at least one part of the CPA Exam. However, I know it is in the past now, and I am already moving forward from this. And for all of you out there who are in the same situation you have to realize you are certainly not alone. So many people fail the exam each testing window, so it is not just you. You have to make the best of the situation you have. For example, I know that I put in a lot of time and effort for this exam, and I cannot even count how many hours, but it must be pushing 100. Now, while I may not have passed those hours that I put in certainly will not go to waste, as I will get back to studying that section soon, and it will be that much easier. I also now know that I have all of the Becker lectures out of the way, so now when I do go back to restudy, I can really focus on multiple choice questions, which is the best way to study.
This is actually a good piece of advice for anyone out there studying: listening to review lectures is certainly not the way to pass the CPA Exam. While they help of course, the only way to truly learn the material is to continue doing multiple choice questions over and over. Keep working them, getting them wrong, learning from your mistakes, and redoing them is the best way to prepare for this exam. Combine that with practice on simulations and you will be all set. So for anyone in the same or similar situation as me, understand that after you fail an exam it is certainly no time to give up but instead time to push even harder ahead. The sooner you start studying again, the fresher that information will be for you. Stay positive and continue to study hard, and you will one day pass this exam. As for me right now, I am in the middle of studying for BEC before the end of the month, and then in not too long I will be back at AUD once again, prepared to retake it sometime next testing window, and I can promise you I will be more prepared than ever. Best of luck to those out there studying! Stay positive!
Joe
