Hey guys,
I hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend! It's been a while since I've taken a few days off from studying, but this weekend I've decided to reward myself before I begin BEC. I took AUD on Friday and I have my fingers crossed, although it did not go as well as I had expected. Then again, it's always very difficult to gauge your performance on these exams, so like I said before, your best bet is to just move on and hope for the best. I am thankful that the results will come back in just a little over a week, being that it's the end of Q3.
All said and done, with another testing experience behind me comes another tip...
Tip #5: Breathe on Exam Day
It's all about execution. No matter how much you study and no matter how much you think you know the material, it's about how you peform on that exam day. And the best way to ensure that all your preparation pays off and that you execute successfully is to stay calm, cool, and collected. If you have a brain freeze on the day of the test and start panicking over a question that you either forget how to answer or just have no idea where to start, take a second and take a deep breath. Don't let your nerves get the best of you. Move on and don't let a few questions frustrate you.
Now obviously this isn't to say that if you stay calm on your exam day, that you are guaranteed to pass. It's imperative that you know your information. But what I'm trying to say is that you don't want to fail primarily because you cracked under pressure. I'd much rather fail and admit to myself, "Ok I just wasn't well-prepared and need to work on these areas so that I can pass next time." That is a normal response, and with determination and more hard-work your day will definitely come as you improve upon your weaknesses. On the other hand, you don't want to walk out of the testing center with immediate regret that you froze up and blanked on questions that you really knew how to answer, but just couldn't because of anxiety. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's just an exam! You will have the opportunity to retake it if you fail, so keep this in mind and take deep breaths on your exam day.
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!
