Well, another week of studying has passed, along with another terrible football Sunday for my team, but here's to fantasy football and pick-em pools. More importantly, one more exam still separates me from finishing the task at hand, and this week I fell behind my schedule a bit. Now it's time to buckle down so that I can begin reviewing well in advance of my exam day. So my tip for this week is...
Tip # 7: Prepare in Advance
Throughout this journey, I have continously recognized the importance of being well-prepared and organized. Quite simply, set a schedule on the first day and stick to it. I recommend that you leave yourself at least one week to review all the chapters of the book, as well as take any full practice exams provided by your software. Never underestimate the significance of that review week. I have found that it truly is the most crucial week of studying, so make sure you leave enough time for it before your exam day.
In addition, do whatever else you need to do to stay prepared for that big day. For example, for any testing centers that you are unfamiliar with, don't be afraid to take a test drive to the location so that you know how to get there. Leave early on exam day; it's always better to be safe than sorry. You can sit in the car and review some last minute notes, or you can typically walk in and start early (on all my tests thus far I have started at least 45 minutes prior to my scheduled time). Do whatever makes you most comfortable so that you can stay relaxed when it comes time to begin the exam. Finally, be sure to schedule your exams as far in advance as you can. Seats tend to fill up quick, so that's why setting a plan is smart and will save you some stress.
I'm out for today. I hope you all have a great final week of "summer"!
